Job Description

The purpose of the job is to Provide secretarial support services to the Board to ensure smooth running of all departmental activities in order to achieve the mandate.

Job Specification

Key Responsibilities

i)Attend to visitors/clients;

ii)Respond to telephone calls and enquiries;

 ii)Handle customer inquries aind complaints;

iv)Ensure security of office records, equipment, and documents;

v)Ensure confidentiality of office information/data;

vii)Manage office protocol and etiquette;

viii)Facilitate the general administration of the respective Office;

 Job Dimensions

i)Managing office petty cash

ii)Responsible for physical assets in the assigned office, safes, furniture and office equipment.

iii)Operational Decisions

 iv)Performed in an office setting at the Board’s Headquarters with occasional field assignments.:         

Requirements for Appointment

i)KCSE Mean grade C-

Professional Qualifications 

i. Have passed in the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council: 

ii. Typewriting II (40 W.P.M.), or computerized document processing III 

iii. Business English II 

iv. Commerce II 

v. Office Management II/Office Administration and Management III 

vi. Secretarial Duties II 

vii. Office Practice II

viii. Proficiency in computer applications

Compliance with Chapter 6 of the Constitution

The successful candidate shall be required to meet the following compliance requirements:

a.             A Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)

b.            A Clearance/Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

c.             A Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

d.            A Clearance Certificate from the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)

e.             A Clearance Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
